“Wood Frame Construction” whether in the form
of Cottages for outdoor winter and summer
activities; Duplex houses as a secondary
mountain residence for holidays or; in the form of Houses
or Villas for permanent occupancy
or, Service Units for multi-purposes such
as schools, fitness facities, restaurants, motels, lodges
or the like, are becoming very popular world wide. Each type
building embodies a different yet distinctive life style,
objective and price structure ranging from low to high cost
budgets.
“Wood Frame Constructions”
are durable, safe, pleasant and healthy to occupants. In
general, the people who have no insight knowledge of such
constructions, they consider these buildings as having a short
life span and are fire prone. This is not quite right a conclusion
to draw. In the first place, the wood preserving process is
an adequate measure to prolong the life span of the wood frame
of the house. In second place, the composition of the walls
in terms of the material being used as well as the construction
concepts that are based on prevailing building codes whether
in the Americas or Europe for such type constructions, offer
not only fire but sound controls.
For those who continue to debate the issue
of fire for any reason, our houses can be provided with fire
proof non-wood material for interior lining as well as early-warning
fire detecting devices or smoke detectors to restore their
peace of mind.
This home page is not only meant to publicize
our current endeavors for promoting a product that we are
proud of as “New” to our domestic market
but above all “Made In Lebanon”
which was the result of several years of experience and know-how
gained abroad; in as much as it is meant to increase public
awareness of a new building concept in wood structure that
is safe, long lasting as the Cedar tree but above all truly
affordable and “Environmentally Friendly”.
<<Why
Wood >>
Wood Frame Constructions is as old as the Sixteenth Century.
Today it is one of the most technologically advanced forms
of constructions with over 70 percent of the population in
the developed world live in wood frame houses. In Canada and
America over 90 percent of all buildings are based on wood
frame technologies.
Building with wood offers a genuinely sustainable
method of construction. It is flexible in design, precision
engineered and dimensionally accurate. Wood frame houses are
light in weight yet very sturdy as they are designed and built
to withstand dead, high winds, snow and seismic loadings.
Wood constructions are not weather dependent;
they reduce wet trades and their drying-out time and has low
impact on the environment. They are warm in winter and pleasant
in summer due to their high thermal efficiency which in turn
leads to a low energy bill. More so they are fast to erect
on a concrete slab on grade, in either single, single with
loft or two storey, with our without an accessible loft
or attic.
<< Healthy Housing
>>
To many people in our region, wood frame
construction is a new building culture and concept that emphasizes
on important issues such as the health of occupants, the environmental
responsibility, the energy efficiency and affordability in
terms of purchase price and long term operating costs.
That does not mean that home buyers must
shy away from a new building system because of unawareness.
On the contrary, people at large, architects, developers
and home buyers in particular must not remain focused on brick
and mortar residential houses which have done a great deal
of harm to landscape and nature. Instead, they should look
at alternative housing concepts that are truly healthy, pleasant
indoors and more so suitable to every kind of climate.
