Eco-Log Modular Homes S.A.R.L. represents pre-engineered, quality homes, in one or two floors with sloping roofs where wood elements play the leading role.  All our wood frame constructions are designed, manufactured and erected in accordance with the “Canadian Wood Council” building manuals, codes and standards that are required to allow such wood frame constructions to withstand dead, high wind, snow and seismic loadings.

Framing of all walls is usually made of Dry Kiln, Heat Treated White Soft Wood studs having the dimensions of 4x10cms up to 4x14cms.  However, ceiling joists and roof rafters are generally of larger dimensions.  All wood elements are factory planed on four sides, pre-cut to measure prior to their transportation to the building site. When required, the wood elements are treated with special preservatives against wood-boring beetles and  micro-organisms.

Cavities between wall studs, ceiling and roof are filled with prime, fire proof insulation material of good density and R-Value such as rock-wool for both thermal and acoustic purposes.

All exterior and interior walls including the roof and floors are covered with Oriented Strand Board “OSB”, a highly performing structural panel which is in effect provides the necessary lateral stability and strength to the  wood frame of the building next to being waterproof, moisture and  sound resistant.

Exterior wall claddings are in Tongue and Groove “T&G” solid wood profiles in various thicknesses and styles to attain a log house look as featured in the perspective photos.  If exterior wood cladding is not licensed by the Urban Planning Department because of zoning regulations, hollow concrete blocks or, Wood Wool Cement Board “WWCB”  would then be used to allow the final application of either texture paint, brick veneer or, natural stone facing material  as extracted from domestic quarries. Lining of interior walls, inner sides of roof and ceiling is in T&G wood profiles or, film faced wood grain or, Gypsum board.

Whichever interior lining or exterior facing materials are selected for exterior wall finishing, the thickness of exterior walls ranges between 15-35cm for single floor houses and, 20-35cms for houses with an accessible attic or loft space largely for sleeping and leisure purposes.

Floor finishing   material is in either ceramic tiles, parquet or, in natural solid wood “English style” flooring panels of our manufacture.  Interior doors in solid, semi-solid veneered wood or, in laminate facing.  Exterior door in exotic hard African wood.

Windows in quality aluminum profiles, double glaze with wood shutters; electrical installations, sanitary fixtures and kitchen cabinets are part of our delivery and erection package. The sloped roofs of buildings are usually in brick tile finishing of local produce or, imported Onduline bituminuous roof tiles.

Whilst we can assist home buyers in designing their dream homes or otherwise at our factory premises, however, engineering and shop drawings by our architect/engineer including a building permit from the appropriate authorities are pre-requisites to “fully” or “partly” erect any size or style house.
